I was tuning around the dial over the weekend... (as you do!) and i came accross Tony Dixon on FM104... Can anyone tell me why???? Is there no one else out there on the RnB Scene that sounds good on radio... what about a "black" (politically incorrect term) guy presenting an RnB show?? Anybody know of other RnB jocks that could be or are good on air and know there stuff too???

Why is Tony doing the RnB show?
He knows his stuff and is good at it that's the why I'm inclined to think.
Why not anyone else?
Why not indeed, perhaps some other station might care to pitch into the same space against him, tough gig though.
Why not a black guy?
I'm afraid that in dear old xenophobic monocultural ireland black guys are still relatively rare.
In all seriousness though, how come there hasn't been an RnB pirate, I'd have thought the demand was there.

I reckon there's lots of great DJ's on the RnB scene that would be great on 104 instead of Tony. Tony is a good jock, but he comes across too "squeaky clean / butter wouldn't melt in his mouth" on air. I'm sure he's a nice guy in reality, but he reminds me of "Tim Nice but Dim" from the Harry Enfield sketches.

Al Murray on Energy would be great on 104, he knows his stuff and would soon get into the swing on legal. Stevie G on Red FM is good too, or Nikki Hayes on Spin, although not an RnB DJ, she has a really sexy voice that'd go well on 104 during the RnB shows.

Anyone got any other ideas???

cant agree al murray is fm 104 material , he sounds too like an amature and dosen't have the voice and passion needed for a specialist show like this ....as for tony d , yes his squakey clean image is very irritating and can be difficult to listen to but theres nobody around with any real given talent to replace him ..in his defence , tony does posess a huge knowledge of what he's doing and it looks like he'll be around for a while .....good luck to him ..
