Here's a question....!
Is it possible to use a standard 56k modem over a radio link?
By that i mean, instead of the data being transfered over phone line, its transfered by a pair of radio links?

It must be possible to do this...
I know u can by radio modem, but they are pretty slow.

Also is there any easy cheap way to run telemetry, measuring transmitter details over a remote phone/radio link with data or DTMF?

Thanks in advance.

Technically an ordinary 56k modem uses audio frequencies up to 3.5KHz or 4KHz for an ISDN modem so a link could transmit the data OK you would also need a seperate link for the return data and neither of these could be used for ordinary link traffic at the same time, some cleverness would be needed to mix and seperate the data at both ends.
It might be easier to look at connecting a mobile with built in modem to a PC at the transmitter site and dialling in using software like Laplink or Fastmove. the ammount of data being sent will be low so connection speeds don't really matter.
