I was resident DJ on a Saturday night for almost 3 years! Seriously great nights, especially with Shane the light jock in a dj box that the punters had no access to. I'll put it my top 5 of all time clubs that Ive worked in!

The upstairs has kept on the sound rig for two reasons...

a) They occasionally have jocks playing background music for the pool hall

b) In the future they are planning to have live bands...they ar not certain as to when this is going to be happening !!

Just thinking about Sunday nights, they tried everything there and nothing worked! Even tried a C&W night for a while!

Tiny Tim used to go upstairs after a warm-up type set in Planet Murphys then Mark would take over down stairs and do all the Jackson 5 type choons, the amount of women the two of them had hangin' off their ***** in that place was legendary :nutter:

I can see it goin now, with the big fxxk off light rig!! We really knew how to get a night going there!! A nice JBL powered speaker as a monitor!! It was these nights that I started training a young female DJ who went on to big things.

thats right ronan! I Know that AJ is there Sunday, and there is some fella called Brian-O there on thursdays, Chris murray is there saturdays and they now have a table quiz night on tues nights.

I know you could get in there if you anything over about 15 or so, but c'mon it was such a laugh. Every friday evening, the phone would ring, and we'd usually exchange only a couple of words:

My mum: Hello
My mate: Is peadar there?
My mum: Sure
Me: Hi!
My mate: Palace?
Me: Grand!

Incidentally, it was the only club i ever remember being removed from!

Ah I remember puking on the stairs before I fell down them, as a brazen 15 year old while having a "sleepover" in my friends house... then it was into the Talbot offy for a naggin of vodka and two strawberry woodys :eek:

One of my highlights working there was standing in the cloakroom talking to the staff when this rather drunk girl handed in her coat, took it off and off came her boob tube with it!! Classy bird!!! In 16 years, I havnt found a club Ive enjoyed working in so much!
