Lol @ “Mac Daddy” - I remember seeing them play support to Michael Jackson once ..... they sang that one song then everyone wanted Jacko on the stage
Jump Jump never sampled House Of Pain however, the only one that did was a tune by Strech & Verne – the follow up to “Im Alive” released around '98, its title escapes me
Maybe Ice Pop, Bren or JohnD know??

"Get up! Go insane!" was the Stretch 'n' Vern track that sampled the House Of Pain's "Jump Around" You're right about the year there Kelly and I think they were on Seb Fontaine's 'Spot On' label. Bit too much info there:-)
Kriss Kross "Jump" was out around may 92 if I remember correctly. One thing I do remember doing is wasting 4 quid buying it!
Question ; what was the follow up to "Jump" ?

Stretch 'n' Verns track was "Get Up, Go Insane"
There are literally dozens of tracks which use various, and easily recognisable samples, from House Of Pain's "Jump Around".
Bally Sagoo used samples in his "Har Gunga" track. There's a slammin dutch dance track by Copycat called "2222" , and even Limp Bizkit have covered the track.
Ivan Ego.....
can you please provide a bit more of a description?
What sample was used? The high pitched "whoaaa" or the brass ensemble used during the very short breakdowns, or even the sublime piano riff?

The follow up was either "Warm it up" or "I missed the bus"
lol! :o

"Warm It Up" or "I Missed The Bus" (depends on whether in US or UK) in '92, but their next hit release was "It's A Shame".

Ice Pop Daddy – you're a walking talking musical encyclopedia of music ;)
I remember nearly getting sacked from a gig for playing “Get Up, Go Insane” after the crowd got a little bit over excited
“Warm It Up” was the Kriss Kross follow up methinks

Thank you People:notworthy
The track itself is a hi - energy in yer face, bitch a*s muddaf**kin (if you catch my drift) hip hop tune ( definitely a traces of Mr. Fatmanscoop)
The whole 'old' part of my initial description may have been a bit misleading !!! :o
Me Thinks maybe '99, ice cube, 'back into it' era
The 'jump around' sample used is a simple cut and paste job, ..................of what i remember!
May the search continue !

Looking for the name of a Hip Hop/R'n'B Track I haerd the other day. The vocalist has a heavy Dublin accent and the chorus goes something like:
"I never say I'm the man, people just tell me I am, But what I can't understand, is the state of the land"
Its a good track, well produced as well as very funny.

Homegrown - Some Sham
You can download it on www.irishhiphop.com but its only encoded at 96kbps, so not really suitable for playing on the radio or club, etc.

Thanks Turiel. I have one more though for anyone that could help. On www.jamesdavids.com the first half hour of the Energy 94 closedown is presented by Greg Browne, I really want to know the name of the first track featured on the clip. Its a great piano vocal classic anthem style track. I was given the name of it before but have forgotten it now!
