Whats yours?.........In terms of Originality, Jocks, Presentation, Fun, Imaging, Branding, Music played, Audience share, Good memories....etc.
Mines gotta be The big one........ATLANTIC 252
Although I dont remember and could have never listened to the Irish superpirates(not from Dublin), I'm sure either NOVA and SUNSHINE would be my number 1 choice.

I have great memories of Nova - 1st time we heard slick links and downright good music. I also have fond memories of Q 102 (?) - the quiet storm.
Anyone else?

-New York's Jammin' 105 (Formerly "Big105") is Now called POWER 105.1 and plays hip-hop n' Rn'b nonstop.
It was AC as BIG 105 ,then was Jammin Oldies (with Jay Thomas on Breakfast) and now it has DR.DRE on Breakfast.

Dublin: It's gotta be Nova, it just broke the mould and dragged radio in this city into the 20th century!
London & UK: Virgin by a long shot, great music, great jocks and great jingles.
NYC: Z100 was fantastic in the mid to late 80s. Scott Shannon and "Serving the Universe from the top of the Gorilla Building". Loved that station when I was in NY.
LA: KIIS was great for Rick Dees and pure entertainment (and probably still is) but I loved K Earth 101. Shotgun Tom Kelly in the mornings was great and you couldn't help but love the punchy, snappy 3 minutes oldies classics and their great singing jingles.
Sydney: MMM is quality and JJJ not far behind it.
Currently for me I mix between Today FM, Radio 1, Phantom and BBC Radios 2 and 5. Sign of the times :p

In the mid-west, it had to be (at varying times) Big L, ERI and Hits 954.
Raidio Luimni was, shall we say, unique, and so will always have a place in Limerick hearts.
CCR & Soundchannel were worth a note.
More recently Fresh 103 definitely got a lot of people talking about it and listening in - a completely automated system with quirky jingles - it still managed to have a personality, and was listenable 24-7!

Oops.....forgot to mention that for stations coming from outside of Limerick, Radio Luxembourg, Nova Satellite, Century and currently Today FM have all featured on my "best of their time" list!
A very difficult choice :confused:
Great stations of the 90's for me would include;
Hot 107
Kiss 103, and
Pulse 103
All time greats for me would all be Carey stations;
Late Nova
Energy 103, and
Nova International
more thoughts on the above later

Capitol - Nitesky, Dublin's real alternative. Now that's what I call the 80's.

Interesting...........
I think its hard to beat the great Atlantic 252 in the early days,I think we all agree that from a DJ point of view 252 was the place to be.
As well as that i think that South East Radio was and maybe still is the best of the ILR's.Clive has done a great job there and I know that their last JNLR book looked bad but thats because SER don't do the usual crap that appeals to everyone.......
Tell where else you can hear Music from Michael Franks,England Dan and John Ford Coley,Jiohn Martyn,Steely Dan,Jackson Browne,Colin Blunestone and Dan Fogelberg????
Theses guys at SER know and love great music and have had no prob's playing it down through the years.

2. Nova
3. CAU FM (damn good music and not half bad jocks either)
4. KB's Kiss 106 (cause anything could be said on air!)
The 90s
Pulse 103 (cause it was a buzz, the hangovers where not!)
Sunset
