what power transmitter and what aerial system would suffice to broadcast a strong stereo signal with rds all over dublin city and county (without using three phase power). Also bare in mind that a budget has been set although its open to amendment. Any help would be appreciated.

Get a mountain site and use a directional array to beam the signal in... you will need at least 200 watts of power... probably more unless the channel frequency is completely clear.

Im playing with the idea right now. I just want to have a complete plan on paper so if I decide to go ahead with it that it will hopefully run as smoothly as possible (although these things never do).

Out of curiosity, what format would prove most successful to Dublin youths, in your opinion?

...and the hard wouldn't be hard-house but rock! Sounds crazy, I know but for an afternoon playlist (provided it's semi-commercial) I think you could do alot worse.

yeah ... Dublin needs more dance music especially considering just how well its doing with the punters these days (and yes, I'm being sarcastic)

Bye bye dance music, it's been an irritating ten years with you at the top of the chart.

four sherman antennas in series linked to 150 watt transmitter
will give you approx 1200 watts more than enough power.
this will make the signal somewhat directional though.
approx cost 2000 euro.

Shouldn't that be 600 watts of power with 4 shermans from a 150 watt tx?

no 1200 watts 150 watt transmitter 1 sherman eminates 300
watts on air 4 shermans 1200 watts on air. as i indicated it is
quite directional my own transmitter 150 watt is linked to one sherman giving an omni directional signal 300 watts on air
on a mast about 200 ft above the lowest ground level in louth
this reaches about 30 miles omni directional giving an excellent
signal in stereo. station only testing not in service yet.you would
have problem in dublin even with two shermans in series
