Started djing in a new place just opened in temple bar, but they are without denons. I didnt really care..... until i used these fu/cker/s, they are numarks, and i hate them!!!!!!! The open and close button is on the opposite side of the dial so i keep hitting a select button, and then sit there for a sec until i realise its not the eject button! Are these the worst decks in the world?
I mean what are the worst gigging decks? And are denon neccesarily the best?

the Denon Mark I Cd double player decks are certainly much better than the Mark II...the logic circuits in the Mark IIs are prone to fail.....
If you can't get a pair of Denons, and you don't mind using non vary speed decks a pair of Technics CD Players are the ones:)
Thats the ones I use...and yup I can mix on them..started mixing in the 70's on a pair of Garrard SP25 turntables...smiles now that was a turntable!
Cheap and Cheerful and great sound quality too!

My mate has Numark's and he swears by them but i tink thas cus he's jus so used to em! I don't like em at all.
I luv my Pioneer CMX-5000's :)
If i'd waited a few more months tho i'd have gone for Macer's ones, the CDJ-100s's
I was torn between the Denon's and Pioneer's but the CMX-5000's won in the end cuz they're just way sexy to look at and had a few gimicy tings the Denon's dint have! ...
oh plus they're silver (my fav colour haha!) so they match my 1200's and all my other other gear :D
Gawd i'm such a gurlie hahaha!

Using pioneer CMX-3000s here and theyre very nice, they almost have me converted from a denon lover! But having said that, they seem to have problems with a lot of CDRs... anything with any sort of scratch on it wont load, even though anything from numark to denons to pioneer (cdj 100/500/1000) will take them. Oh, and if the CD is burned with anything except Nero (well, I tried 5 different programs), the CD wont load at all.

Denons are overrated for their price if you ask me; the Mark two 200 have to be the worst CD machine of all time. The Pioneer are probably the best with the 1000 being a scary fecking piece to use. I have used loads of Numarks and the CDN 35 is way way better than any Denon and it looks a tad bit nicer.
The problem in CDR's not being read is to do with the laser reading in a lot of machines, but you will find that CDR's made in PC's will be more likely to encounter the problems than CD's made from stand alone burners.

actually if you have a look inside at the way its put together and the quality of components used, it is better than the pioneer, lets face it pioneer are good, but the mixers are over priced and the amount of them that have problems are very high, not bug problems just little annoying ones, lets headphone sockets, faders, switchs all giving problems, the components used are not of the highest quality.
i wouldn't touch berhinger speakers with a barge pole, but their mixers are top notch, looking at it another way, the pioneer 100s are the bottom of the pioneer pile, cough cheap cough !!! just messing, i might e getting rid of my pioneer cdj5000 to buy a set of 100s and a berhinger mixer to sasve space in the car.

I got the cdj100s cause my local club uses them. they used ti have denons or something (all i one thing) and when I laser went in one of the decks it was fucked for the night - so if anything goes wrong on a cdj100s or similar you just plug it out and change it for a spare one.....

yeah, but when you pay lets say 1500 for a set of double decks you don't expect them to give up. denon have gone down hill in recend years, they brought out the 1800 reduced their price and level of quality and this shows in their loss of the market share.

But you can get nearly new denon 1800s still in the box on ebay for around $250. You cant beat that for a price!
