Does anyone have any feedback on the Broadcast warehouse
CM1 STUDIO MICROPHONE (pictured below)
Im thinking of going for this particular model. Or does anyone have any recomendations for around 300euro? (new or sec-hand)

For 320.00 you'll get a brand new Rhode Broadcaster which are REALLY good!
You'll need a desk with phantom power though, or a phantom power unit which will cost around 140.00.

For about that amount, you could get a dual diaphram (B-2) condensor mic on ebay ($150) and couple it with a behringer shark microphone limiter from veronica.

Are you SERIOUS!!? About the only good thing about Rhode mics is the nice little silver czarry case they give you with them!

Get a Bheringer Single Diaphram Condensor for about 160 euro and couple it with the bheringer shark digital mic processor 120euro (youll need this for the phantom power). Will be as good if not better than the one your looking at and is cheaper. Ive used both and find the bheringer to be better

When it comes to behringer mics, whats the difference beetween the b2 and the b2 pro?? and is it worth paying an extra 30euro for??

I would say to you Squire if you are going for a mic for a pirate go for a cheaper AKG, preferably a second hand one to save a few quid.
Other than that, good settings on EQ and compression will go a longer way for good mic settings and decent voices on air will benefit you way more than just throwing a shit load of cash to AudioTech!

Ive gone for a behringer b2 pro with the behringer shark to power it. Hopefully Ill get nice results from that!
Ordered it from digital village yesterday along with a behringer dx-1000 mixer. Its behringer all the way.....

Personally I'm a fan of the Audio Technica AT4040 - which can be got, with shockmount for £139 - nice warm sound out of em.
Same mic that Today FM use in the Self-op studios AFAIK.
Big fan of Behringer gear tho too, but never had chance to hear one of their mics in action...

Re the Rode mikes, I have to disagree - I don't like the sound off the Broadcaster models, but the sound quality and frequency response off the NT2 is excellent.
We did some tests a couple of years back where we voiced into a Neumann u87 and an NT2 alternately - same desk, same eq, same processor, same everything and there was very little difference when close up. The difference, and superiority, of the Neumann bacame more apparant as you moved further away..
I don't know how the specs would look, just saying what our ears told us over numerous tests..

We use a Rode NT2 in our studio, and it's nice to know that it can at least stand up to a u87!
I've tried a u87 coupled with a TC Finalizer (at a big station in London) and it is the business. A great gravely sound that most people have to wait until they're 60 for (and probably have to smoke 40 a day)...
