Hi folks,

just an idea that might be food for thought. what songs don't work anymore.............. you know the dredded song you love but only you>>>>>> everyone is dancing and you think perfect time for ????????????? and it just dies a slow and horrible death........

Or what songs still work eventhough they shouldn't e.g. played a gig a couple of weeks ago(21st so everyone was pissed) and the dredded wrong cd in the wrong box.........oh no.........put em under pressure......the 1990 world cup song............ i nearly died but they went absoloutely bananas

so folks what should work and doesn't and
what works and shouldn't

If you have a young crowd, put em under pressure is guaranteed to work! Try put it in the middle or at the end of an irish set though, it just seems out of place if you just stick it in the middle of your usual 60s,70s,80s.

Hmmm a song which nearly always manages to kill the crowd, shiny disco balls!

I was doing a gig a few weeks ago - Dirty from Christina had the floor packed ... whacked on "Work It" by Missy Elliot and the place emptied. This was a fairly well known disco bar with a letter for a name - very bizarre!

On the other hand, don't you love those gigs where the place is packed and everyone is so pissed that they will literally dance to ANYTHING? So much fun to see what you can get away with!

p.s...I love shiny disco balls - that and Tim DeLuxe were my very very drunk saturday night songs last year!

Missy - Work It had a VERY short lifespan, worked for all of 2 weeks for me and that was it! Could never understand why. And while we're on 'Work It'... Nelly and Justin always manages to clear the floor for me too.

ditto here, it now just a warm up RnB song at best

Junior Senior -"Move Your Feet" is a very strange one lately - at some gigs its so big n the floor I extend it a bit (lets be honest the radio edit sucks ;)) and others (like last night) the reaction was luke warm at best
