I don’t claim to be able to do good Talk Radio myself if giving the chance but, is it just me or is Talk Radio in this country complete crap.
Anytime Gerry Ryan gets a mention on a paper he is referred to as “Irelands Chat Show King” Gerry is doing the same crap Radio every morning for donkeys years and while Gerry claims to present a “No holds barred” Radio Show its realistically a silly attempt to shock catholic Ireland with the odd mention of “Penis” and Gerry’s attempt to try to embarrass the odd punter.

In my opinion nobody is doing good Talk Radio in this country.
I know that Charlie Wolf was great on 252 but after listening to him on RED for the past few weeks I think he' s very poor. Charlie’s show is never interesting, never gripping and certainly never funny.
Im sorry Charlie but this post is not a cheap shot at you its just my honest opinion that the show is already stale. The only consolation is that Neil over at 96 is not any better, just yesterday I was delighted to hear him make a tool of himself with Mary Harney .He tried to stitch her up but from where I was listening she came out of the interview gleaming.

As for the two Talk shows in Dublin I have to admit that I’ve not heard enough of either to make fair comment but according to most posters here those both shows are also taking up the same subjects as they did years ago.

I think Dunphy does good Radio and I admire his straight-forward interviewing approach.
Rachel across at Montrose at the same time continues to sound intelligent and you always feel you getting a complete fair platform of the days news on her show but as for "Entertainment Talk Radio" its almost non-existent?

I want to laugh out loud in my car sometimes ……
Nobody on any Radio Station is this country has ever made me do so....
Where do I get that type of Radio in Ireland?

For a genuinely funny and fresh look at how its done go to www.mojoradio.com
Check on Humble and Fred and later in the day John Derringer.

This is a fantastic Station thats has the "Balls"required to great radio.

Sadly, CW has had to resort to namecalling etc to get a bit of attention. While that will do as a short-term fix, it will not paper over the that his show is not suitable for an Irish audience in the long-term

I used to enjoy Dunphy (when he wasnt talking about bloody football) but got a bit fed up of his ranting on just about any issue. If youre going to be opinionated at least try to be consistent.

His arroganct and irresponsibile attitude towards his obvious drinking problem (Given that its landed him in court more than once lets call it what it is) isint exactly something to be admired either (mind you the country is full of people like him who do just that)

Aaw now come on, don't tell me you don't like Eamonn still - I mean he's actually interesting compared to the rest of them who are trying not to offend anybody, especially the government. Leaving his off-air problems like drink-driving aside, he's well able to speak his mind like during the roy keane show in the world cup when it wasn't what people wanted to hear.
