It just shows again that money is king for the top management in mid r3 and the BCI. The BCI have proved just how wrong they are in believing midlands radio 3 would change after twelve years crap in the recent applications
Shame on the BCI

Failure by management to pay an agreed five percent increase from last June, pleading poverty because of alleged losses this year. Instead they're offering an across the board three percent rise from the start of this month.
The management is also accused of "failing to allow repeated allegations of bullying and harrassment by one union member against a senior manager to be investigated", according to SIPTU.

Strike notice withdrawn pending a union consultants examination of the managements claim of inability to pay a 5% pay increase agreed with the union
Described as a difficult and courageous decision by staff by union rep Maurice Hearne.

Erm, I know this is a bit late, but didn't the union members in MR3 actually agree to leave the union? That's what a press release from MR3 said anyway just before Xmas.

They left the union when Joe Yerkes left the top Job.

Ive always wondered how a station whose franchise area consists of three counties including some fairly major towns (Mullingar, Athlone, Tullamore) which cn be covered with fairly minimal transmission costs (i.e. one TX because lets face it the relays are pretty unnecessary) has been on for twelve years and (allegedly) hasnt been able to make a shilling
Anyone have any idea why (apart from the obvious) ?
