Open FM, the station which is proud to celebrate diversity, will be Ireland's first gay culture radio station. Hoping to promote openness among everyone in Dublin and provide the straight community with an insight into gay life. OpenFM will also feature a guide to what's happening during Dublin's Pride Festival.
A new radio station that will air in Dublin and online in mid-June, for 30 days, is searching for an Assistant Station Manager to help setup and manage running the station, ideally with either broadcasting or administration experience, or with the ability to learn. This role will begin immediately.
Duties include:
Liase with and assist Radio Station Manager, over-see with the day-to-day activities of setting up and running the station.
Work as part of the management team to help create the vision of OpenFM.
Helping manage the various departments, scheduling on and off air staff.
Assist with dealing with promotions, sponsorship and PR issues
Other duties as requested by the Radio Station Manager.
Desirable:
Have knowledge of, and an ability of to work within an LGBT and straight community, and to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively in both oral and and written formats.
Demonstrated reliability and professional attitude.
Computer skills.
Good oral and literacy skills.
Technical Knowledge.
Expectations and Obligations
The position is an unpaid position with length of service and working hours subject to discussion. OpenFM will provide the candidate with immediate opportunities to work in a frontline capacity in all of the areas mentioned above thus building positive and real world work experience in these disciplines. We are looking for a motivated, passionate, energetic self-starter who will take initiative and bring creative and innovative ideas to the position and organisation.
This is an unpaid position. This position requires dedication of spirit and time towards the OpenFM project. OpenFM is a non-profit with all additional funds going to our elected charities HeadsUp.ie and GCN Forever.
