Heard on 2 and 9 November, Clontarf, Dublin 3. Receiver used was Sony ICF SW40. Level scale 1 to 5 (very arbitrary!).

Heard on Shortwave: Radio Ozone International on 7500 kHz, 3 November, 10:30-11:30 (relay of Anorak Hour till 11:15).

Very comprehensive! That's being printed off and stuck to the wall behind my stereo, as soon as it is amended. You forgot (or maybe couldn't pick up - not surprisingly) 107.2 - Tallaght FM.

Is Hope still on 91.0FM? WLR on 92.4? Chill Fm on 102.9?

Surprised you got Phoenix but not St Itas!

Perhaps it was the carrier he refers to on 97.3. Either that was a college station testing, blocking it out or St. Itas weren't outputting any audio at the time..

Well, he got a signal level of 5 so it appears that it was a test on 97.3. Perhaps St Itas were also on a carrier at the time although he did it over 2 days.

Do Heartbeat carry live programming? A friend of mine send me a tape of them with just continuous music and the Charlie van Dyke v/o's from the 80's. He also recorded what he thought was Hope FM from 91.0, but again it was non stop, no ID's abd what seemed to be just a CD spinning through. Who was behind this station and did it carry religious programming? I take it no connection with the Hope FM from 1988!

Aki and Billy… I took a look back at a bandscan I had done the last time I was in Dublin in February… At that time I heard Tallaght Fm on 107.2, level 4 – surprised I didn’t hear them this time… Also heard Hope on 91.0 with a level of 1, but no sign of WLR, Chill or St Ita’s… It may be that the location, (right on Clontarf road – not much elevation) prevents me from hearing them… I was also using the Sony SW40 which overloaded badly when I took it outside so all was done indoors…

Rumours bein what they are this one will excite even the pesimists out there(Anti-christ you'll have fun here, as im sure will deco and all you other Murray fans). Try Ben Murray testing his carrier................ Didnt see that one coming now did we. Vicious rumour but have fun any way.

Bubbles - this is what I heard from radiowaves.fm, and as far as I heard from friend in DCU it was true... but all has went quiet as John points out:
"DCU FM
18 - 24 Nov
Dublin - 97.3
Temp licence"

I suppose we'll know by Sunday if the carrier belongs to DCU or not? John, any idea what happened with DCU radio? I'm really not that pushed on walking into their campus to try and find out - people look at me awkwardly (I study in the school right next door :p)

T-Man - that rumour sounds a bit more exciting than college radio with rigged competitions anyway ;)!

Bubbles, the Dun Laoghaire station is not the only one licensed to appear on 97.3, most of Dublin's colleges now appear on this frequency at some point (or points) over the course of the year.

As far as the mystery over DCU FM goes, back in September the BCI sent me the details that you have seen adorning the right hand side of the newspage for the past couple of months.

These details have only just recently been added to the BCI website, with a few extra stations that have been negotiated since, but mystery surrounds DCU FM who were due to be on this week. On the BCI website, the DCU entry remains in its chronologically correct position but all details have been removed.

Most of the college stations contact us with details of tx times etc, but i have had no contact from DCU FM, and know of nobody in there.

According to the BCI, the next station due on (from next Monday) is Blackrock's BCR FM.

And, indeed, the DL CAD station will be on again in May 2003, and interestingly enough, DCU FM are also due on in the week leading up to Paddy's Day.

This Saturday on 93.8fm in Dublin, I firstly heard a wickedly overmodulated station broadcasting dance. I thought Mad Radio was on this freq. and so moved around a bit determined to receive it.
Another station, playing dance (not as "bangin`" as the first, sounded more trance-like) tuned itself in. This was not overmodulated. It was obious the first was interfering with the second.
Pulse Fm (Ben Murray) has began broadcasting again and, according to the site, it`s on 93.8. I haven`t heard mention of Future Fm leaving that frequency. There must be some confusion. For the sake of pirate radio in Dublin, I hope it`s just me that`s confused.
PS. I wouldn`t have even known the second station was there if I hadn`t thought Mad on that frequency.
