Hi- Does anyone know who WLR FMs technical engineer is?

Thanx in advance!

Looking at their recent bid documents I believe Total Broadcast are their engineering contractors.

Yes, Justin is correct, Total Broadcast do WLR's tech work - why do you ask?

Just wondering. Was down that end of the country about a month ago. Their audio sounded nice, what processor are they using?
Are Total Broadcast a waterford company? is that the same company who do South East Radio?

Just feeding the brain, thats all! :)

Total Broadcast look after WLR and South East Radio and I can ensure you that Total Broadcast insist on all the Radio Stations they service use an Optimod audio processor. Only the very best will do.Total Broadcast is very much the leader in Audio supply and service in this country.

What other companies are there? BTS is based in Dublin right? Do they do the work for FM 104?

FM104 use their own engineer, Steven Foley. BTS do pretty much all the other Dublin ILR stations.

WLR use Total Broadcast as do South East Radio (IMHO South East are the best sounding ILR in the country. And hello Clive and Tracey and all the SER types who read this on a daily basis!).

Total Broadcast are based in Waterford but get all over the country. They look after WLR-fm, South East Radio, Tipp-fm, Tipp Mid West (for the moment!) among others. They also look after the INN/AdSat receive equipment at most ILR stations around the country.

And they will be constructing the Beat 102-103 transmitter network.

I take it that the ears of Beat 102-103s listeners will have the audio pleasure of an optimod 8400??

Total Broadcast are the distributors of Orban gear in Ireland hence their "insistance". IMHO Optimods are the best of the processors available.

Oh let's not start another Optimod vs. Omnia slanging match!

BTS sell Omnias so they will naturally promote them as the 'best', while Total Broadcast sell Optimods so they, of course, believe [correctly IMHO] that the Optimod is a better product.

Any further arguments about which is best are referred to Radiowaves threads passé!
