Hazarding a guess, I'd reckon that several hundred Chinese & Eastern European automated spam/spider accounts auto-joined and attempted to flood the board with 'honest' 'sincere' messages extolling the virtues of Viagra, Clialis, HD-TV's and sundry other crap in an attempt to harvest our email addresses and credit card details. Make good business with your company for purpouse of increasing sales and satisfy your partner with engorged love truncheon. Thank you.

I was working for a company with a message board around that time, and there was nearly 2000 attempted fraudulent sign ups in a week. Most (including, I believe, this one) now have extra security measures in place to ensure our safety.

Personally, I thought that Rubo$4444%%5_klitchko@ yahoo.ru and Jennnifer_lopez9000@ hotmail.com would have been fine additions to the community, (hey, who wouldn't want 'jennnifer' Lopez opinion on climbing up a mast in Saggart in a hailstorm in November?) but sadly, the mods thought otherwise.
