I have to agree with p.f.l, whats your basis for saying its crap?

I know the people who run the station and they have things wraped up down there.
Firstly, Passion has a very very large audience.
Secondly, the studio is nice and big.
Thirdly the audio is sounding good as well, not much processing gear!
Audio is better than CKR at times!
All Passion fm need now is a bit of healthy competition!!! ;)

Right, for a start I don't know any of the people who run the station so I don't feel the need to heap false praise on them where its not warrented. What is your basis for saying they have a very very large audience Gear for sale?I can't comment on the size of the studio since I haven't seen it.Their audio is average at best and could possibly benefit from a better processor. The signal is fairly strong in Naas, weak in Kill, weak in Newbridge, weak in Kildare town & weak in Kilcullen. Not exactly great coverage!I've never heard any DJs on the station(thats not to say there aren't any).I've only ever heard 2 ads,one for Swifts in Newbridge(see above) & one looking for DJs for the station. The music policy is a bit odd as well. All Passion Fm need now is a bit of .........healthy competion?
Oh,and one more thing Gear for sale, jealous of what?

My basis for saying that they have a large audience is that the facts are there, Since the station launched on june 8th 2002 some of the more popular shows have gotten over 400 messages within a 2/3 hour period. This by standards is good(would anybody agree with me here?).

Ive worked on most of the pirate stations in Dublin and a 2/3 hour show on a good popular station would be lucky to get half as much.

Im not saying that this instantly happend for passion fm but it took time, dedication and work and i would agree that the station still isnt prerfect. In kildare or should the greater south kildare area so to speak, a station like passion fm has never been attempted. The kildare 12 - 25 year old market is fresh and new down in south kildare and only a few people have copped on to this.

First place to check if you want details of a station in Ireland is the Radiowaves Database:

Passion FM's details were to be found at:

I'm a very good friend of Passion FM's and although we are quiet close together, there is absolutely no competition. Passion FM is a genuinely quality station, one of the best I have heard in my life. The station manager is gifted, the formatting is second to none and the output is not only the best in the land but extremely popular. Passion has a liner that says they have recieved over 50,000 text messages in the last four months. That liner is quite old and would hazard a guess at saying that number has doubled by now. Listen to it and find out for yourself. PASSION 107.7 all over Kildare, Newbridge, The Curragh, Naas, Blessington, Clane, Maynooth, Ballymore. Icould go on, but I think you get the picture.

You thinks wrong. I stand by everything I say coz it's true. Our areas of transmission do not intersect, so if you are within range of the Passion TX it really is worth a listen. Those people who have defended Passion are right as well. I heard it said here that Passion often sounds better than CKR. That is one hundred per cent true. The only correction I would make is that I would not have said often sounds better. Since late Summer I have never heard the quality of the audio on Passion drop below that of CKR.

The only posts to defend the station came from Gear for Sale who just happens to run the station! As for what you consider to be good audio and signal, well,a listen to Flash 105 last weekend leaves me in no doubt what you know(get a new Mic pleeeze). If you think that Passion can be recieved in half the areas you list, you really should get out more stop talking shite.Naas & Clane(just) are the only places with decent reception.

I never defended the quality of my signal, and I wouldn't coz I actually must agree with you on this. The quality of audio on Flash is not even worth talkin bout but we are loosing the point, and I really disagree with people who hi-jack threads. I think the only way round this is to agree to differ.
