Sat Nav updates

I have my Garmin Sat Nav about two years, I haven't got it updated yet though.
I went on the Garmin website and they are looking for €80 for an update. Does anybody know if a way to get an update much cheaper than that?

Your first update is normally free with them. They'll just ask you to register with them. At least that was my experience with them...

I have a sat nav too , this updating business is very frustrating , and very costly, im sure there are torrents out there with the maps youre looking for , but i wouldnt advise it unless you have a lot of time to do it right , and dont mind if you esenitally break your sat nav by doing it wrong

edit: your best bet is just to pay for it , or buy a new sat nav altogether , they are coming down in price alot now , the price of an update can go alot further towards the cost of a brand new one now
