music software?

Just wondering what's the best software to use for making music, ie, for custom music beds, mixes etc?? What are you guys using out there? I heard things like cubass, etc, are good.Appereciate any advice

Depends on what exactly you're trying to do. Cubase was originally written for the AtariST machine but as far as i know there's a PC-based version as well. There's also an amiga based program called Octamed Sound Studio.

If you've got a half-decent sound card there'll probably be a sampling program bundled with it.
