View Full Version : Pat Kenny vs Charlie Wolf

Does any body understand the extreme hatred that the HONERABLE Charlie wolf has for Pat Kenny? I have been listening through archived shows on his "tribute website!!!!" (the vicious combination of procrastination and sheer boredom makes us do things we normally wouldn’t do) Practically every night Charlie launches spontaneously into a unprovoked diatribe on Pat Kenny (a far superior broadcaster). Has any body wondered why a washed up talk radio host (the real life version of Alan partridge with his show on radio Norwich) would be so fascinated to the point of obsession with the success of Pat Kenny, the nations favourite and most acclaimed broadcaster.
Is it a sheer coincidence that Charlie Wolf used to work for talk sport? A radio station which Pat Kenny is the CEO of, and one of the primary investors in the radio station which was once called Atlantic 252? Is it another coincidence that Charlie was cut loose from Atlantic 252, when his audience finally got sick of him ( a decision which would have required managerial approval of the highest level). We can only speculate.
His radio show is called “Cork talks back” but the only time we hear Corkonians airing their views on his show is in the first 15 minutes, the so called “langer lines” slot designed to kill time. For the rest of the show he talks to him self or else he has a crackpot from America on the line talking about “rod activity” in marmalade jars or something.
:D

A debate on who's better , ''Kenny or Wolfe'' is an insult to Kenny.
Kenny is not only a more intelligent broadcaster but he's also a far superior one.
Im not a huge fan of Kenny on TV ,in fact i cant watch him , but his radio skills would challenge some of the best presenters of our time .
C. Wolfe is Donald duck and Mickey Mouse material in comparison to Pat Kenny and the only people who know who he is are the people on this board and a few lifeless Cork people .
Ilistened to Wolfe once and i found him an opinionated ,aragorant self centered fool who wouldn't know good radio if it kicked him up the arse..........
Lets hope he dosen't turn up on dublin radio .

Well fortunately, neither Charlie or Kenny were successful in becoming Speech Broadcaster of the year at the radio awards the other night. THERE IS A GOD !

Charlie wolf is a washed up hasbin who is bitter and resentful that the Irish radio establishment rejected him in his hour of need. He hates RTE, 2Fm and especially Pat Kenny because these icons are the pillars of Irish radio. Charlie wolf is an arrogant fool, (or at least this is the persona he likes to portray deep down he is a man with many insecurities) he probably thought that he could walk into any job that the national broadcaster had going when he was removed from the prime time slot on talk sport (he now occupies the grave yard shift 3-5am !!! on Saturdays) when he was rejected this must have been a bitter blow to his ego.
Listening to Charlie’s radio show is like listening to a scratched record, the same old crap over and over again, maybe that’s why his CV reads like Ruport Murdoch’s shopping list of Mickey Mouse radio stations (sorry professor!!!), when the tired gags are finally flogged to death and when his beleaguered audience can predict his next sentence, it is time for Charlie to move on.
I have heard him make fun of that poor girl Chloe Jackson and it has been commented about on this site, but what is more concerning his is treatment of his producer Riastard Keating. It’s desgusting, the remarks every 2 seconds that border on homophobia and you can tell by the way that Riastard responds that he his sick of it, and so are we Charlie..so give it a rest maybe that’s why you had him hired in the first place so you could kick up some dust and deflect rumours about your own sexual orientation by making references to his at the drop of a hat, just quit it Charlie you’re not impressing any body, it really is time you went home I hear Howard Stern rip offs are back in Vogue this year!!!

ah lads, leave the guy alone. just because charlie has some life in him and Pat gets a million a year for moving round like Elvis and suddenly stopping when he speaks, doesnt mean Pat deserves the money! At least when Charlie jokes, ITS FUNNY!!

jackies, whoever you are, you said
"when he was removed from the prime time slot on talk sport (he now occupies the grave yard shift 3-5am !!! on Saturdays"
you are incorrect here, the only slot that CW had on TalkSPORT was the overnight one, he never did a prime time slot on talkSPORT. This inaccuracy gave ammunition for CW to condemn your posting (and the messageboard) on air during the past week.
"Listening to Charlie’s radio show is like listening to a scratched record, the same old crap over and over again,......., when the tired gags are finally flogged to death and when his beleaguered audience can predict his next sentence, it is time for Charlie to move on."
You do make a good point here, I get a pain in the head listening to for example the "hole" thing over and over again, likewise with the Knocknaheeny Bus Song when he had that on the go.
"Howard Stern rip offs are back in Vogue this year!!!"
Its the likes of Rush Limbaugh that CW looks up to (he has said this on air) rather than Howard Stern.
wonder is that where the Osama song came from?
BTW Limbaugh had a song about the Irish-American Kennedy political dynasty some years ago, some of the words: "I'm a Kennedy, I'm a Kennedy... my politics is on my left and my bimbo is on my right"

021, no disrespect...but you make it sound like you're being forced to listen! You have a choice.
It's the old situation of - 'I hate when they do this and that and when they say this and that' etc. People who claim to 'hate it': LISTEN. People who 'love it': LISTEN. For the presenter, generating this reaction, it's a completely win/win situation.

Charlie is so desperate to appear cool hip and progressive with the youth that he does what any good PR person would .. he attacks a very well known broadcaster, hoping to cause a storm and ride on the publicity that his well thought out comments will hopefully attract due to the other person`s popularity. Only problem is that when Charlie and another million people where having a bit of fun with a talking alarm clock on their programmes, persons who were slightly more progressive had already done everything that Charlie is now attempting .. The guy is very predictable and reads like a book.

This is very simple .
I'm told that Charlie Wolf is a very nice guy from a friend of mine that works in Radio and I have no reason to say any different but I don't like what he does on RED FM so i don't listen?
When I say that I don't like his Radio Show some people in here get all upset?
Why?
Good man Charlie I'm sure your a Top Bloke but there must be loads of Radio that you think is crap too.
I listen to what i like to listen to and I advice the rest of you to do the same.
Having said all that I think that KC on RED is one of the best broadcasters in the country and 2FM should have picked him up.
I'm also sorry to see Richie off Air.....another fine broadcaster.
REDFM is Hot bloody HOT .
Its a pity that there is only one Henry Condon in the country.
Spin needs a Henry as does 2FM.

Have to agree with you about keith cunningham, and I must say, Galway Bay FM were gobshites to let him go two years ago ... he really was a terrific brekkie presenter there, and I've heard him a couple of times on Red.
