I was thinking!!!!dangerous i no,wouldnt it be great if you could upload your full disco/club set up on this site so you could listen and comment on the way other djs put there sets together as i dont gig as much as i used to now i find that i have a bit more time to listen to what other djs are playing in other clubs from what i have heard although the tunes are much the same the layout by other djs are much different.
I have a 3hour set downloaded from the club mixing desk direct to my labtop sat of aug weekend it starts off with club hits in the mix and changes to rnb as the night finished. Its just an idea..anyway..... as its mainly djs who comment here. Its up to the powers that be here in the radiowaves site......GUESS...

Here's another idea: structure your posts by using proper sentences, check your spelling and re-read your post before hitting submit.

It will make it easier for everybody else to read, and increase your chances of receiving a response.

That was me being nice and reasonably constructive! We're all entitled to our opinion after all. Mine is just always right. :king: (ok, that bit is a joke!).

Maybe the "texting generation" can read the original post with ease. But to encourage people to read and reply to your posts they simply must be written to a reasonable minimum standard.

I've taken the time to translate the original post below, I hope you will find it reads much better...

I was thinking - dangerous, I know. Wouldn't it be great if you could upload your full disco / club sets onto this site so others could then listen and comment on them? I don't gig as much now, so I have a bit more time to listen to what other DJs are playing in clubs.

From what I have heard the tunes are much the same but the layout is different. I have a 3 hour set downloaded from the club mixing desk direct to my laptop. It was recorded on a Saturday in August and starts off with club hits and changes to RnB as the night finishes.

It's just an idea as it's mainly DJs who comment here. It's up to the powers that be here on the Radiowaves site I guess.

Also this a radio forum as opposed to a club/dj forum.

The amount of bandwidth required for this would be huge plus the site owners would be hit with royalty charges. I am sure they want to keep it nice and simply.

It has a "DJ & clubbing scene" section.
Anyway, I think it would be quite easy to upload a set to either rapidshare or megaupload, and post a link in the promotion section.

Personally, I don't really see the point of uploading your recorded set. I do have some of mine recorded over the past 2 years, but I don't care much for putting it up on the net for people to disect. Why? I think that the comments you get will be as unconstructive as Bush invading Iraq. It is down to opinion - Bush thought it was a good idea, I don't. Some people will think some songs in my set are tripe, others will love them. Means nothing. Any Club DJ here know's what I mean simply by the way patrons in their club come up to the DJ box and share their thoughts, good and bad, every night you work.

It only matters on the night in question - if you have a full dance floor, then you must be doing something right.

However, I will add that the benefit of listening to another DJ's set will give you ideas about what to use, the mixing of certain songs, and microphone techniques too. But it's all relative.

And, 4 de record, I am of de "txting gener8ion", but I h8 txt spk.

Seanie.

If fairness to the OP here, i think this isn't a bad idea really...

Except, i would prefer to list the playlist of a night via text in a thread rather then upload the whole set for people to evaluate.

It is nice when you're off on a night and you head out to a different club and you hear a different style or breakdown of a nights sets... ie some djs start the night with R&B and towards the end of the night have completed a chart/dance and oldies set, and others would start off with a dance set and end with an R&B set etc.

I always hear a different way of doing things when im out and get ideas all the time from what i hear other djs playing in other clubs.

I think i started a thread before to see what other djs had down for their last 5 songs of the night and no one bothered replying.

Discokid, by all means there is nothing stopping from opening a thread in regards to this, so djs could list their sets out for other djs to get ideas from.
