Dont mean to throw a spanner in here but if i was having a party , id certainly want a dj with more than 3 years experience doing the gig and if i was a club owner the same applies.

As this is the jobspot, we shouldn't really be discussing it here, so maybe someone will shift it somewhere more appropriate, but for the time being :

As the ad states that they cater for a wide variety of customers, you have to take budgetary and content requirements into consideration:

While for a corporate function or a wedding, you would obviously want (and would be willing to pay for) the very very best available, but neither the Confirmation party in Multyfarnham nor the 75th birthday party in Monasterevin can afford, or really need the services of Mark Ronson or Norman Cook, and would be perfectly happy with an enthusiastic disc-spinner who speaks clearly, doesn't knock stuff over and plays the right tunes in an entertaining manner as long as he fits their budget.

(And from what I've seen, it's not unfair to suggest that the average mobile DJ gigs twice a week, meaning that 3 years experience would give them almost 350 gigs to gain valuable hands-on qualifications from. Hell, some guys and girls gig up to 5 nights a week, if they can get the work.
Even if you were to hire a dj with 3 years experience who, for whatever reason, only gigged once every ten days, they'd STILL have over 100 gigs under their belt before they got to you. )

And as for club owners? The Club owner who says "Get me the most experienced fill-in jock available. I don’t care about the cost" either hasn't been a club owner very long, or will not be a club owner for very long.
Money is made by not spending it, and 9 times out of 10, an owner will try out the cheaper option, and unless the club in question is frequented by Paris Hilton, Girls Aloud, Pete Doherty and George Clooney, there aren't too many jobbing professional club jocks with a decade of experience who'd be willing to regularly sit through trial nights for €50 and all the diluted orange they can drink in the vain hope of landing a regular well-paying gig.

I understand what you're getting at, but It’s horses for courses.
