Just listening to the Green Audio webstream now, they're playing lots of recordings of Waterford-based 80s station ABC.

Listening to it, its hard to believe its 20-odd years ago.

I was listening to Clive doing drivetime whilst in work and it really took me back. Well done to all involved the sound quality is amazing and as ever ABC sounds better than anything on the air today!

It was booming around the office this afternoon. It did cause one 'strange' moment when the news was on. Dave Hunt was reading a story on how 'British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher' was worried about the Anglo Irish Agreement. The guy sitting across from me looked up with the most puzzled look I have ever seen!

Great stuff '' Loving the Music or should I say I'm loving the "self-indulgent' music mix. Non commerical classics . .Brill !!!

Comp for 1000 pound Video Recorder - When you hear a "Strange" version of Harry Chapin WOLD ...Ring to win..

Thanx to Dave and Clive.

I have to say, in fear of blowing my own trumpet, that the news sequence sounded great!

Who would have the guts, or ability, to read news UP TO an accurate top of the hour time signal (3 pips) these days?

Well it was Kerry Graye I was listening to, not me, its just that I designed the news format! Kerry was far better than me at reading it!

I vaguely recall seeing a bit about this station (and other stations) on an edition of Today Tonight (RTE TV current affairs) in 1988 (which was looking at the then pirate and forthcoming legalised local radio). I think it was described on that TT as a "mini-Sunshine" (Sunshine being Sunshine 101 in Dublin)

So is anyone going to put recordings of that Today Tonight on Youtube, surely someone has it taped ?

theres a lot about 1980s Dublin pirates on Youtube (even Radio Dublin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTCQtjw6ARU) is there) but I can find nothing about elsewhere in the country (except a 'border blaster' station in Monaghan).
