Just back from abroad and managed to listen to
a few pirate stations today and have to say I was
pleasantly surprised . One station that jumped out
at me was freedom FM
What a fresh sounding professional sounding pirate
with slick sounding DJ's jingles and crisp audio and
stereo separation and a super playlist after listening
a few hours on and off the station sounded more and
more professional superior than most legal stations.
Also found 93.8 think it was called future fm the signal
wasn't great but it sounded well and gave lovely
underground feel to it was live as well during the day
which was good think it was called future .
Energy also sound very well on 94.1 but the music
and feel to the station wasn't right and the guy one
sounded very depressed also he went from trance
to rnb to rap to chart audio was nice though .
The poor pirates vastly out numbered the good ones
found club fm the automated station very loud horrible
sounding audio repeating a few oldies over and over
with loads of crackles bleeding all over the place .Nest
door was 99.4 as I tuned in there was a scooter tune
playing so was the next and so on ehhh i forget
what I thought of the station but it wasn't positive.
Then I found madaudio I mean radio I think they put
all their concentration and work into coming up with a
name the signal was weak and the audio was atrocious
computer noises coming out all over the place ehhhh
music was good though very good but i couldn't listen
for too long not because of the bad audio after two blocks
the signal disappeared. And finally 94.4 adds fm sorry
kiss fm adds for 10 mins the two retro tunes and then
more adds loop cd pretty poor seemingly a big studio
equipped with a cd player and transmitter if they had
anything else they were not using it.
Going travel up to the mountains next week armed with
my trusty scanner and radiowaves frequency list for
Dublin what would you have me listen to apart form
the above stations or did I get it wrong I mean the
opinions on the above stations .
P.s sorry for the above slagging but I always say if
you do something do it properly if not slag every one
else.
