One of the big problems in this country is that we are stuck with one basic format. Lets be honest its all-classic hits Radio in this country. Call it what you like but at the end of the day it’s Safe Classics of safe Chart. When I say safe I mean Nelly Furtado and Elton John.

I for one think that we are starved for more formats in this country. The first thing that’s needed is a National Talk Radio Station aimed at a young to middle aged audience. At the risk of using buzzwords this station should have balls and be run by people that are not stuck in 1960 catholic Ireland. The Presenters should not be trying to shock but should present intelligent radio that’s not afraid to say (C**k) instead of (Willy).

Another radio station that’s dying to be born is a bloody good alternative Rock Station 24 Hrs a day with little chat but loads of hard-hitting noise making thumpers.

There should be a national easy-listening station and I don’t mean 24 hr M-People and Rick bloody Astley like Magic do all day. . I’m talking about Steely Dan, Michael Franks, John Martyn, Stephen Bishop carefully mixed with some old standards from Sinatra, Dean, Sammy and even The Carpenters.

Last but not least there should be a National Radio Station playing all Country/Irish music. And before you say it my friends I hate it too but this Station would be a goldmine. As I have said in many posts in the past…Put a Country and Irish Station on air nationally and you will have the biggest Station in the country.
If any of you ever do please consult me or give me a job because I have it all worked out…I mean Massive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MOVE OVER, CONOR J. MAGUIRE AND GIVE THE JOB TO RADIOFRIEND!

I've said it for AGES that there's no station around for me....at least 2 of the ones RF mentions would suit me.

Limerick, of course, is a poor place to be for choice...the best station on the air here, music-wise is Regional Hospital Radio, but it's a little TOO unpredictable for me.

WHY do we have to have such a limited choice ? To be fair, 95FM in Limerick has improved lately, but it's still very poor in the evenings playing the stuff that the kids already have at home.

RLO and Estuary are both catering for the diddly-eye crew, while whoever's wasting 103.0FM should be charged with criminal negligence - apparently it's a guaranteed BCI-endorsed frequency for Limerick that doesn't cause inteference.

PLEASE, someone, put something on air that plays some of what RHR offers along with the best of what NCW106 had....

I think we need a proper 24-7 youth station. Tell me one youth that can honestly say that they are proud of 2fm
