Before it got done up, djs music was great, its gone down hill since its re opened. why do Managers mess around with stuff.

The DJ's that were there before them were there for a long time and it all seemed cool. That guy Justin was excellent DJ. Think he was there for 10 years or something

Ahh theres dedication .

To think Wolfman signed up just to put up the post . You must be really upset by the change.
Justin is a very good dj and i have used him recently and had no complaints, but sometimes new managers want a change .Could be a good decision and it could be a bad one ? .Who knows ?

So far it seems to be going well out there . Except the guy on Tuesdays is getting on a bit and they left no room in the new DJ box for his zimmer frame :-)

Actually I had to resign up cause my email account went dormant, so theres dedication.

But having dj's shouting "are you ready" after every Insomnina style song Is bit a bit like the castle or the kasbah that used to be in Finglas.

Is called creating an atmosphere. I did have a feeling it was a little personal gripe but hey I don’t mind. I don’t say it after every song. Think that’s a little porky :-) . Maybe during the night once or twice if i feel it needs a lift.

Sorry never worked in Finglas so I don’t know much about the local Djs lingo. Umm maybe the Tamango customers will never come back again not because the music is wrong or the fact the place looks great or maybe even the atmosphere was good but because the DJ said “Are you ready " .

Is that really your best criticism of my style Wolfeman .

Oh and by the wy its " Are we Ready " :) :)

I wouldn't say that at all. I would agree with ginger here. I will from time to time, depending on what way the crowd is, give a little blast here and there. It not just about the music. You sometimes have to give the crowd a kick to get going. It all down to timing and luck if you ask me.

" YEAH LET DO IT "

" HERE WE GO "

" THE ROOF THE ROOF THE ROOF IS ON FIRE ....."

" FUNKY TIME "

Of course you got have the little sayings it does hype the crowd.

Cant say im a fan of the cheesy dj who like to give his all on the mic with the usual'' Put your hands in the air and have fun or else '' . A bit 80s if you ask me and didnt think djs still did that . Although i know some managers like it so i suppose if theres a pay cheque in it , then who cares.

Just let me clear something up here . Wolfe is exagerating a little here :)

I said "are you ready" once , maybe twice whats the big huh-ha. Its a mainstream nightclub for god sake .Its not The f**k**g Ministry or Cream .... :nutter: Its Tamango and its full of people wanting a fun night out .

Ah what's all the fuss about.. ask half of any clubs attendance and they wouldn't even know the jock by name nor even care who the jock is once they have a good night. Its bad enough punters abusing you at every chance but if your on here giving out about a DJ saying three words in a nightclub in North County Dublin, I think your on a loser...
Something that has come to my attention only recently is the amount of nightclubs and pubs that have set up bebo pages and they are proving quite popular amongst the peeps. People post on the pages giving their analysis of either a good or bad night in terms of everything that the club might offer from Drinks promotions to the music.

I didnt mean this as a bashing to someone in particular. Just some sayings are old

Anyway going on dj sayings

I remember hearing this one. I nearly spit my drink out when I heard this

" It may be cold outside but certainly I'm hotting things up in here"

Can anyone add to this Tony fenton classic

hey wolfman ,,,,, YOUR A WINNER
seriously though, you say you dont wanna bashing session, so why single out tomango,,,, there are many djs in many places (clubs and radio) who , by habit, use the same phrases,
e.g ,,,,,,, 7 nights a week we mix up the hits,
7 nights a week the late bar is right here,

i could add names to the above two !

how about radio ,,, "it is the strawberry alarm clock"
the words "it is" are without out a doubt the most mentioned words by one of the presenters there

we all fall in and out of habits, i bet you have a few yourself ??????? :frust:

I have to admit, when I have DJs working for me I want them on the mic and not just standing like a dummy playing music. Mainstream Clubs differ to music bars somewhat but as Hood mentioned you need to give the punters a jolt to kick start the night sometimes.
There are cliches "ARE WE READY" etc but if it gets the desired response....

I Was Out In Tamagos Recently With A Few Friends To See The New Place After The Refit,When We Went In The Music Was Heavy Dance Bang Bang Stuff So I Went Up To The Dj And Said When Does The Good Music Start?(I Know It Drives Djs Mad),Is It Rave All Night? Will You Play Maneater? The Usual Stuff That Djs Take From Punters. But The Final Straw For Me Was When I Asked Him Was He The Warm Up Jock.I Was Told By A Nice Doorman That I`ve Had To Much To Drink And It Was Time To Go.

Is that fella Tony D jocking out there? I was talking to some of my regulars on Fri who went out for a nose to Mango's.
What's the format out there for Fri and Sat nights? Is there more than one dancefloor (like is there 2 jocks on duty).

I dont know any DJ in Tamango that would refuse to play maneater ,apart from Jim On the oldies night . Personally if you spoke to me like that i would escort you to the door . I you would never get near the place again . I am suprised that you seem to be proud of your idiotic behaviour .

Browsing this thread it strikes me that there was a change in personnel at the club . The previous djs are not willing to accept the new line up of djs so they will try anything to bad mouth the new line up . How am i doing so far ?

Tony McNamara's actions strike me as very childish and immature and very unprofessional so i fail to understand why he questioned his removal from the club .

Ive been to many many clubs this year as a customer where the dj wasnt to my liking , but there was no way i was going to let myself down my passing a comment to him , its his gig so its his choice.

Get it right, Hood. It's Joer's. :D

And to answer your question, no there is just the one Dj, one dancefloor. Depending on what night you go, there is a different music format. Shakes things up a bit!
