Just wondering I know the JNLR is random and around 20 -30 questions are asked . BUT if someone
answers these questions with pirate stations answers is it just ignored or is there actually
figures taken seems strange because I know a lot
of people do listen to pirates especially the likes of freedom and phantom which are bound to
turn up loads in these surveys this would make the JNLR figures incorrect just ignoring this number
or is there n/a or other section to cover this
type of radio.

It's put into the "other local" category.

I really don't think it falls in under "other local" category.
That doesn’t make sense to me?
Why can't somebody e-mail MRBI about this?
Take the Waterford / Wexford border for excample. If someone in Waterford told MRBI that they listen to a pirate and this was recorded under "Other Local" then WLR would be lead to believe that this other local was South East Radio...
Am I stupid or does that make no sense at all?
I’m fairly sure that if you don't subscribe to the JNLR (which of course pirates can’t) then anything said about you is dismissed...
Having said all that there should be an area in the survey that concentrates on pirate radio and maybe add it as "Additional Information”. That way the ILR's can get an official accurate look at how damaging Pirates are to them in their area.

Take it from me, it's put into the "other local" category. A mate of mine in Waterford was "quizzed" by a JNLR person last year and he said he listened to ABC... she put a mark in the OL cat. Don't ask me why, maybe she wasn't told to ignore it or that's the way they do it for some strange reason.
I agree that it could be construed as confusing the issue but there you have it, who said the JNLR's were accurate? :D
