View Full Version : It's Good To See A Nice Guy Get A Break!

And before people start bitching - hold it! Let's be nice in here for a change. It is great to see Dave Redmond get the brekkie gig at South East Radio. He's one of the genuine nice guys of this business and he has worked hard to get there. Dave was doing the weekend all nighters at SER in 1991 and getting the bus back to Gorey straight afterwards so that he would be there for a full days work. Back then the exhaustion got to him at the end. But he was committed to making it and he worked damn hard at it. So I know that a lot of people will agree with me wholeheartedly and say 'fair play head!'.

He has worked at getting a good gig and he has worked at some great places along the line.

SER's breakfast show has been a mess since Bryan Lambert left it in about 96 or 97 and it never got back to where it had been. No offence to Stephen Dee but it wasn't gelling.

I can't wait to hear tapes of the show (I live abroad) or hear a stream (if one is available).

So - if people want to slag me off or have a bitch - go ahead, but I think that there needs to be a bit of good news on this board and we should practice the maxim 'if you have nothing good to say, say nothing'.

Back to Waterford hoping for a gig in Beat I suspect. All I know is he resigned and wasn't fired.

Steven Dee is or was at least, doing weekend work on TippFm.
As for him hoping for a gig on the new Regional beat.....he may not be suitable for it? maybe better off on WLR.

BTW-yes, the very best of luck to Dave. Good news.

Brian Lambert should get the gig at East Coast Radio, as he's only part time at Lite FM. He's wasted there.

Well fair play to Dave - he deserves it! He's a fair bloke!

Fair play to Dave ............. Ive never met him but I thought he was excellent on 104. Anyone who managed to hold down a show 7 days a week (5 on East Coast, 2 on 104) *and* run his own business deserves all that comes his way.
