Ive just been looking at the 98fm website, and I do think it's a great site however, they never seem to keep it updated

If you look up Niall Boylan in the on air section it says he only presents the afterdark show on a Sunday night

And Barry Dunne is still labelled the overnight jock.

In the newsteam section it doesn't even mention Tara Duggan who is one of the Primetime anchors.

I know the accuracy of the website probably isn't John Taylors first priority though I would have thought 98 had somebody employed full time to keep it up to date etc.

Then again it's still better than fm104s no website at all!

A few months ago (when he only DID the afterdark show and the page was well updated) Niall Boylan's page was strangely hidden...I watched it for a few weeks to see what was going on :P then decided to write to 98 asking them why it was hidden, heh.

I have to agree - they should have a full/part time website updater...surely there is somebody in the 98 offices who could take the job.

BBC's website. The perfect example of how to integrate yout online presence with your on-air presence and make it work.
If 98Fm don't have somebody working on their website, they should have, and somebody who can make it work better than anybody in Ireland seems to be able to at the moment.
Mind you, the archaic situation surrounding how we get online in Ireland might have something to so with why radio stations don't take their websites seriously but as soon as we have unlimited flat-fee access, they will become aware.

Unfortunately, Irish companies do not have the resources to operate a website that is comparable to the BBCs. However, with some ingenuity there is hope. I think one of the best Irish websites is the Irish Examiners - it can't have too much money to throw around, but it's way ahead of the times and indo when it comes to breaking news during the day. RTE's website is good too, and it does have the advantage of being able to include audio and even video. But as for local dublin radio stations - it's a bit unfair to expect too much, i think. The pinch is on.
